Count Day this Friday, October 1st!

Hello CPS Students and Guardians! This Friday, October 1st, is Count Day. As a reminder, this is the only Friday this year students are required to be in attendance. What is Count Day and Why is it So Important? Count day is the day that the state of Colorado looks at how many students are present, and they pay us for each student who is present. The money we receive from Count Day is the largest part of our funding. It is how we pay our teachers, pay for building and bus maintenance, buy our supplies, pay for our awesome trips and any other opportunities we offer at the school. We need to get paid for each and every student who is enrolled at CPS, so we can continue to make this school the best it can be. Therefore, we need every student in attendance on Count Day and the 5 days before and after Count Day, which is this week and next. Of course, we want you to attend school every day, but for Count Day and the days surrounding it, WE MUST HAVE YOU ATTEND! 😊 Count day this year will

21-22 School Year Changes

Dear CPS Community, I can’t tell you how many times CPS staff hear from alumni that they wish they would have taken school more seriously, that they feel like this place is part of their family, and that they wish they would have come to school more often and not put it off so long.  We know that there are reasons why our students will sometimes avoid coming to school and working hard. There could be mental health challenges like social anxiety. There might be academic challenges like a struggle with reading. There might be a lack of purpose and direction that may make it hard to understand the point of getting a high school education. There may be substance use and abuse challenges. Whatever challenges our students face, we aim to confront them head on, help students overcome them, and support our students to find success in their schooling and in life. With those aims in mind, I want to share with you some changes we will be making to our program for the next school year starting J

Re-Engagement And Discipline

We have implemented some changes in an effort to re-engage students academically, and address disciplinary infractions in a restorative way. The following links will guide you to our academic re-engagement tiers and our disciplinary intervention tiers, which will be executed by our advocacy team and school administration. Please let us know if you have any questions about these systems. We are always looking for ways to improve as a school and better serve you and your students. If your student has not yet been in touch with us, pl
