Re-Engagement And Discipline

 Hello CPS families!

We had a great first week back, and are looking forward to working together again this year.

We have implemented some changes in an effort to re-engage students academically, and address disciplinary infractions in a restorative way.

The following links will guide you to our academic re-engagement tiers and our disciplinary intervention tiers, which will be executed by our advocacy team and school administration.

Disciplinary infractions and responses:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PNWWPgY8ogSb5EwTnWWPFiXPJvxH_YCTKareI_NIh0w/edit?usp=sharing

This process will be overseen by our Dean of Students, Abbey Banta and the Advocacy Team.

Please let us know if you have any questions about these systems. We are always looking for ways to improve as a school and better serve you and your students. If your student has not yet been in touch with us, please have them come in or call to speak with their advisor about making a schedule and a plan for this school year.

Sincerely,

Raj Solanki

Principal

Miguel Romero

December 2, 2024 Dear CPS Community, Miguel "Smalls" Romero It is with a heavy heart that I write to share the tragic news of the loss of one of our students, Miguel Romero. Miguel passed away on Friday, under circumstances that are deeply affecting our entire school community. The police are pursuing this as a homicide case. During this difficult time, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Miguel’s family and loved ones. He is an important part of our school family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Miguel was always kind, supportive, and respectful to anyone he encountered. He has been a bright light at our school. To support our students and staff as they process this loss, counseling services are available at school. Our school counselor, Anais, will be on hand to provide care and guidance to anyone who needs it. If you feel your child would benefit from additional support, please encourage them to speak with Anais, another staff member they ...

Winter weather alert information

Hello CPS Community, That "snow day" time of year is here, so I wanted to make sure you are aware of our winter weather policy. Generally, we follow D11's call for school closures (d11.org/Weather). However, we reserve the right to make different calls as well. When a school closure for weather is called, we will send out a message as soon as possible in the morning through this message service as well as post it on our website, facebook, and instagram pages (communityprepschool.org, facebook.com/communityprepschool, instagram.com/commprep). As a reminder, we are a charter school, which means that we have a relationship with District 11, but are not a regular district school. For instance, we also have a different calendar than the district (communityprepschool.org/calendar). Therefore, please make sure if you receive information from the district regarding days off whether because of weather or calendar, you confirm with Community Prep School communication. With that sa...

Remote Days

Hello CPS Community.  We have used up all our snow days this year. If another snow day happens this school year, we will have a remote day.  The state allows us to have 5 remote days per year that won't count against our required 160 school days.  A remote day means that we will not be in the school building, but we will conduct school remotely through Google Meet links.  If a remote day is called, a student will be expected to call or video in to their advisor that day to counted present.  The links for each advisor can be found at the bottom of the page, here: https://sites.google.com/communityprepschool.org/cps-online
