Dear Community Prep Families,
We are writing to inform you of an update to our school attendance protocol that will go into full effect at the start of fourth quarter, after Spring Break, on March 30.
This updated protocol was developed by our Attendance Working Group to strengthen consistency, accountability, and communication across classrooms. Clear attendance expectations help ensure accurate data, early intervention when concerns arise, and stronger support for student success.
Beginning March 30, the following expectations will be in place:
Students must be physically present in the classroom they are scheduled to attend in order to be marked present.
Students will be marked absent if they arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of a class period.
Students will also be marked absent if they leave class before the end of the period without permission.
Attendance will be recorded each class period and entered into our Student Information System (SIS) daily.
At this time, we will not track or record tardies separately as we focus on overall class attendance.
Parents/guardians play an essential role in supporting consistent attendance. We ask that families ensure students attend school regularly, communicate with the school regarding absences, and provide appropriate documentation when required.
Prior to March 30, advisors will review these updated expectations with all current students to ensure clarity and understanding. We are sharing this information now so families have time to review the changes and ask any questions before implementation.
Regular attendance builds important life skills such as accountability, punctuality, commitment, and perseverance. Being present consistently supports not only academic progress but also the development of habits that prepare students for life beyond high school.
If you have any questions about the updated attendance expectations, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting student success.
Sincerely,
Raj Solanki
