Updated Attendance Protocol Effective March 30

  Dear Community Prep Families, We are writing to inform you of an update to our school attendance protocol that will go into full effect at the start of fourth quarter, after Spring Break, on March 30. This updated protocol was developed by our Attendance Working Group to strengthen consistency, accountability, and communication across classrooms. Clear attendance expectations help ensure accurate data, early intervention when concerns arise, and stronger support for student success. Beginning March 30, the following expectations will be in place: Students must be physically present in the classroom they are scheduled to attend in order to be marked present. Students will be marked absent if they arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of a class period. Students will also be marked absent if they leave class before the end of the period without permission. Attendance will be recorded each class period and entered into our Student Information System (SIS) daily. At this time, ...

Miguel Romero

December 2, 2024 Dear CPS Community, Miguel "Smalls" Romero It is with a heavy heart that I write to share the tragic news of the loss of one of our students, Miguel Romero. Miguel passed away on Friday, under circumstances that are deeply affecting our entire school community. The police are pursuing this as a homicide case. During this difficult time, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Miguel’s family and loved ones. He is an important part of our school family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Miguel was always kind, supportive, and respectful to anyone he encountered. He has been a bright light at our school. To support our students and staff as they process this loss, counseling services are available at school. Our school counselor, Anais, will be on hand to provide care and guidance to anyone who needs it.  2025 GRADUATION!!! Tomorrow, Saturday, May 31, 10am-Noon, at the school (332 E Willamette Ave). Graduates: - Grads please arrive at 9:30am the morning of graduation and meet in the common area by the front desk. - Light refreshments will be served after graduation.
